The basics

What is grading?

Grading is an in-person assessment which determines if you are ready to move through the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Elite pole levels. It's conducted by a TPR instructor and scheduled on the 7th week of what is normally an 8-week term.

Aside from moving up a level, grading helps you improve your skills, track your progress and set goals. Those basic pole climbs that once seemed daunting are now a breeze - and grading is how we celebrate that growth.

03 Move up a level

Step by step

Are you eligible to grade?

The registration process is as simple as 1, 2, 3 and 4.

1

Show up to class

Attend every course class you are enrolled in so you stay aligned with your goals and keep practising your core tricks. Missed a session? Book a Private lesson or Pole / Aerial Jam class to make it up.

2

Complete your terms

Each level requires a set number of rotations (terms) to level up - anywhere from 1 to 3 terms depending on the level.

3

Nudge your Studio Manager

Let your Studio Managers know you want to grade. They will review your attendance and confirm whether you are eligible.

4

Get the go-ahead

Once your Studio Manager confirms you are ready, they will arrange your grading appointment.

Grading sessions are free for members, otherwise you can purchase a Grading session.

Showtime, let's go!

It's grading day - what now?

You'll be joined by around 6–7 students going through the same motions. Each of you takes turns showcasing your stuff in front of the instructor.

Step 1

Arrive 30 minutes early

Give yourself enough time to warm up and stretch so you are ready to jump straight in when it is your turn.

Step 2

Demonstrate your core tricks

Your instructor will ask you to perform the core tricks required to move up on both sides, your good side and your challenging one, by yourself.

Step 3

Get your result

Once you are done, your instructor will let you know if you are moving up to the next level or re-mastering your current one.

Step 4

Make it official

Pass and we celebrate with a certificate (hello, IG bragging rights!). Book straight into your next course and keep the momentum going.
