Pole Instructor Certification
A structured pathway from student to TPR-Certified Instructor. Five Sundays with founder Jasmine Zapka, sixteen hours of shadowing real classes at your home studio, and a certification recognised across all seven studios.
Turn your passion for pole into a career with our Pole Instructor Certification program
This program is designed for passionate students who are ready to take their knowledge of pole to the next level and turn what they’ve learned into something more. Whether your goal is to become a confident pole instructor or simply develop a deeper understanding of movement, technique and teaching, our Pole Instructor Certification program gives you the practical skills and knowledge to take that next step.
Because being great at pole and being a great pole instructor are two very different skills.
Over five Sundays at our Eltham studio, you’ll learn to turn tricks into teachable steps, with progressions, regressions and clear cueing. You’ll learn to spot, support and keep safe students of every body type and ability. You’ll plan classes and courses students feel successful in, choreograph from first count to final pose, and learn the art of teaching itself: how to communicate, read the room and handle whatever the class throws at you.
And you won’t just learn the theory. You’ll take those skills into a real studio environment, shadowing experienced instructors, working with real students and gaining hands-on experience in live classes. Then you’ll finish with two assessments: a mock class you run from start to finish, and a trick breakdown you teach.
By the end of the program, you’ll have the skills, the experience and the confidence to step up as an instructor and lead the room yourself.
15 hours face-to-face, then 16 hours shadowing real classes at your home studio: watch, learn, assist, practise, teach.
Jasmine Zapka leads every theory session herself. The method behind thousands of classes taught across 7 studio locations.
Small enough that we know you, watch you develop and give you individual feedback throughout. You'll get personalised feedback and coaching.
Three phases.
15 hours of face-to-face theory at Eltham across five Sundays (10am–1pm), running alongside 16 hours of shadowing at your home studio. Then 2 final assessment sessions, separate to the 15 face-to-face hours, to complete the training. Tap a week to see what it covers.
Face-to-face theory at Eltham, every Sunday from 10am to 1pm for five weeks in a row. This is where the method, the anatomy and the teaching craft are taught.
- Same room, same group, five weeks straight
- Breaking movement down into teachable steps
- Spotting, safety and different bodies
- Class design, communication and running the room
You take it into a live studio. Shadowing is flexible and runs through Christmas and into the new year at your home studio, at times that work with the studio timetable.
- Watch, learn, assist, practise, teach
- Real classes with real students
- Mentored by your studio owner
- Flexible times that suit the studio timetable
Two assessment sessions to finish, held separately to the 15 hours of face-to-face training. You run a mock class with friends as your students, and show that you can break a trick down and teach it.
- Session 1: mock class, start to finish
- Session 2: trick breakdown and teaching
- Assessed on cueing, spotting and pacing
- Feedback and sign-off from Jasmine

Teach others and transform your own training
Teaching pole is real, ongoing income and a skill you can carry anywhere in the industry. Our Academy gives you a genuine pathway into teaching work, not just a certificate.
You've already put in the training. Inter 2 and above means you've built the strength, the trick vocabulary, and the studio time this next chapter is built on. This is what "what's next" actually looks like.
This isn't a generic teaching cert. It's Jasmine's own method, the same one behind every class The Pole Room has ever run, taught to you directly, in person, through a combination of theory and practical.
This program is for you if…
You don't need to be the strongest person in the studio to become an amazing teacher. You need the willingness to learn, the ability to communicate and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
- Love pole and want to take your passion further
- Have considered becoming a pole instructor
- Want to develop your confidence as a Poler
- Want to learn how to teach safely and effectively
- Love helping other people achieve things they never thought possible
- Are ready to be challenged, learn and grow

Learn from Jasmine Zapka
You’ll be taught by the person who built The Pole Room. The method, the class structure and the teaching standards used across all seven studios come from Jasmine, and she’s leading this program herself.
With only 7 trainees, you’ll get individual attention and feedback from Jasmine in every face-to-face session. Your shadowing is then mentored by your home studio team, so you’re never figuring it out on your own.
Only 7. We deliberately limit the program so we can give every trainee personalised feedback, individual attention and genuine hands-on experience throughout.
You don't need to be the strongest or most advanced person in the studio to become an amazing teacher. You need the willingness to learn, the ability to communicate and a genuine desire to help others succeed. Please see application requirements for more details.
You'll shadow classes at your own home studio, mentored by your studio owner, moving through watch, learn, assist, practise and teach with real students. You'll need to complete 16 hours in total by 14 March, and you'll receive guidance and feedback throughout.
No position is promised, implied or reserved. The Academy is an education and development program, not a recruitment process, and completing it does not create any entitlement to work at The Pole Room or any of our studios. Where a suitable vacancy exists and a graduate is the right fit for the team, we may extend an opportunity. Please enrol for the learning, the experience and the craft, not on the expectation of a job at the end of it.
No. Completion of the Academy does not itself qualify you to instruct. To teach in any studio setting you must separately hold a current First Aid and CPR certification. Obtaining and maintaining that certification is your own responsibility and is not included in the program or its fee.
Places are limited and confirmed only on acceptance of your application and payment. Trainees are expected to attend all five theory Sundays (10am–1pm), complete 16 hours of practical shadowing and sit both assessments, with all program components completed by 14 March or earlier.
Yes. We want all enrollees to attend every session scheduled. The practical training is much more flexible as it will run during our normal scheduled classes.
No. Many trainees join to develop a deeper understanding of movement, technique, anatomy, conditioning, flexibility and choreography for their own training. If you do want to teach, the program takes you all the way through to practical experience with real students.
Because that's what it is. In Australia, "accredited" has a specific meaning: a course that has been formally assessed and approved by an independent body, such as ASQA for nationally recognised training or AUSactive for the fitness industry. Our Pole Instructor Certification is designed, taught and assessed by The Pole Room, and we certify every graduate ourselves. We won't call it accredited until an independent body has approved it. We're working towards AUSactive accreditation, and when it's granted, we'll let you know.
The next generation of teachers starts here.
